The police chief of Galloway Township says as far as she is concerned it's a "GO" for trick-or-treating in the Township on Halloween night.

Chief Donna Higbee says whether or not the event takes place falls under her discretion, and she's all for the event from 6 until 8pm on Saturday, October 31st. Higbee says that " I believe that the decision to allow children to trick or treat falls upon their parents / guardians and as such it would not be appropriate for me to cancel Halloween at this time."

She emphasizes that Coronavirus restrictions should be in place: "Follow all CDC guidelines with respect to sanitizing hands, social distancing and wearing masks wear appropriate."

Higbee stresses, "I strongly believe you are all educated enough at this point to decide what is best for your own children."

Chief Higbee says if you don't want to participate in giving out treats, turn off your porch lights and don't answer your door - the same thing people have done for years and years.
