FOX Cancels American Idol

After 13 years, FOX is pulling the plug on American Idol.

The long-running TV talent competition will end its run after an upcoming 15th season, USWeekly.com reports.

American Idol will begin its final season this January. According to a FOX network executive it will be "a season-long celebratory event", with host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. remaining on board for one last search an Idol superstar. Naturally a good bit of Season 15 will also pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of memorable contestants, winners, and unforgettable Idol moments.
