Former Pro Footballer Junior Seau Dead At Age 43

Junior Seau has died, police are investigating suicide as the cause of death, according to TMZ.com.  He was 43-years old.

Seau, a first round draft pick out of USC, was a 20-year veteran of the NFL playing linebacker for the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots.

Family and friends of the retired athlete say they saw no signs of depression, though a cryptic text to his ex-wife left some wondering.  A strange incident in 2010 involving Seau crashing his car off a cliff called his mental state into question.

Sources say Seau was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, he was found inside his Oceanside, California home.  He leaves behind 4 children.
