Now that the overflow crowd from Memorial Day Weekend has gone home, the North Wildwood beach reconstruction team has announced a new round of beach closings as they continue to do replenishment work after recent damage by coastal storms.

Effective immediately, North Wildwood beaches will be closed from 8th to 19th Avenues.

This section includes some of the beaches that were closed in mid-May for the previous replenishment work, when 2nd Avenue to 21st Avenue was closed on May 17. The city reopened these beaches to accommodate the Memorial Day Weekend crowd.

All beaches north of 8th Avenue and south of 19th Avenue will remain open to the general public, according to the Facebook announcement from the North Wildwood Recreation and Tourism Department.

Residents are being asked to check back on the progress of the beach replenishment job for a better idea of how long the beach will be closed.

The City of North Wildwood appreciates the patience from the general public during this difficult time, as we work to build a beach for the residents and visitors in response to recent damage from coastal storms.”
