Firefighters were called to an early morning fire Thursday on the 300 block of West Poplar Ave. in Wildwood where they found the second floor of the two-story duplex engulfed in flames.

The building was unoccupied at the time and under renovation.

Fire and rescue crews from  Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, West Wildwood, Rio Grande and Stone Harbor responded to the fire at 1:15am Thursday and were on the scene until 3am.

One firefighter did sustain a hand injury during the incident and was treated on scene.
