Costco....I consider this nearly unforgivable.

You know those delicious 12 inch by 16 inch half-sheet cakes that you can get personalized and made to your liking for less than $20?

Costco is getting rid of them and there does not seem to be any plan for them to return anytime soon!!! And yes, it is because of the pandemic. *eye roll*

The store chain further explained their reasoning in one of their comments on Facebook. They wrote, “To help limit personal contact and create more space for social distancing, Costco has reduced service in some departments. At this time, we are not making sheet cakes for special order. Thank you for understanding.”

Okay......well now I feel like a jerk since it is mainly for the safety of the bakers. More personalized cakes means more staff will be on the clock at once meaning social distancing and what not becomes that much more difficult.

But all hope is not lost.

Instead, Costco is focusing on their round 10-inch cakes but I think we can all agree that it will not be the same.

Plus, those half-sheet cakes could feed like 50 people easily.

One shopper did comment that these round cakes are not enough to feed bigger parties of guests. BUT, a reply comment also made a good point that we are not really supposed to be having large gatherings right now anyway.

Let's just hope that this change is actually temporary. Hopefully.
