Cape May resident Colin Thompson is now officially a Panther!

Of course, we'd be ecstatic if went to play for the Eagles (Go Birds!), but the Carolina Panthers came a'calling and off he's gone. The 26-year-old has lived in South Jersey for the majority of his life with his mother owning a business here and his father working in real estate. Thompson himself, according to the Press of Atlantic City, worked for Lower Cape May Regional as the offensive coordinator for the high school.

Thompson has apparently been involved in the NFL for a while now, but didn't sign an official contract to be apart of anything besides a practice squad until now. All we can say is that even though he won't be wearing green, white, and black this year, we'll be wishing him all the best every step of the way.

Go get 'em, Colin! Make South Jersey proud!
