Camila Cabello encourages fans to "keep dancing" on her latest single, "Bam Bam" featuring Ed Sheeran. But she's got even more powerful advice to share with the release of her new album, Familia.

"Bam Bam" is a heartbreak anthem, and the first song Cabello has released since her breakup with fellow pop star Shawn Mendes.

In an exclusive chat with PopCrush Nights hosts Lauryn Snapp and Donny Meacham, the 25-year-old singer shared how some hard-earned wisdom, many tears and finally coming to terms with situations outside of her control inspired the new track and the music heard on her third album.

"Life gave me a piece of wisdom, just from experience. And my mom and my grandma always said to me, 'You never know what's around the corner,'" Cabello says.

"I remember my first breakup with my first partner. I was like, 'Oh no! What have I done? What is this? This is the worst mistake of my life!' And then, you know, years later, you move on, and you're like, 'Oh, I am so glad that this worked out the way that it did,'" the former Fifth Harmony member continues.

Cabello adds it "was a message that I really wanted to put in a song, and life has shown me that, time and time again. You never know what's around the corner."

Wise beyond her years, Cabello believes her life mantra is "the antidote to anxiety."

"Anxiety is like you are trying to predict, and you are trying to control what's going to happen. 'Did I make the right choice? Did I make the wrong choice?'"

But the only choice, according to Cabello, is to ultimately "follow your feelings" and "[be] open to everything 'cause you never know."

"That was a piece of wisdom that was like, hard-earned wisdom," Cabello shares. "I cried, all the things, and then I was like, 'Yeah, that's life, and that's okay.'"
