Billie Eilish Reveals How She Really Feels About ‘Mean’ Comments Fans Make During Meet and Greets
Billie Eilish revealed her thoughts about the less than kind comments some of her fans have left on social media and during her meet and greets.
The 17-year-old is on the cover of Variety's Hitmakers issue where she spoke about the relationship she has with her fans.
"I forget sometimes that they’re not literally my friends," the "everything i wanted" singer said of her fans. "It’s weird, like, that’s probably the biggest con in it all: that people I’ve never met think I’m really close friends with them."
It isn't just Eilish who forgets that they're not close friends in real life, the fans do as well and it sometimes makes for brutal comments. "And then they forget that I’m not, and sometimes say stuff at meet-and-greets or post things that are joking or sarcastic about how bad I look in [a certain] photo, and I’m like, wow, that’s so mean," she continued.
Although the comments can be negative, it's all part of their relationship. "But then I remember that it’s just part of being friends — you make fun of your friends as a joke, and they make fun of you back — so it’s all love, and I really, really don’t want it to change," she concluded.
