Beloved South Jersey Food Critic Dies
A beloved local food critic and radio/TV host has passed away. Ed Hitzel was somewhat of an authority on South Jersey cuisine.

Hitzel reportedly died from a massive heart attack Monday night. Sources say he may have dining at a local Maplewood restaurant, but there are conflicting reports as to whether Hitzel collapsed at the establishment.

For years Hitzel has given his two cents on area restaurants, his opinions highly revered. If a restaurant, chef or dish got Hitzel stamp of approval, it had to be good. He'll be missed.
