The time has come for one Cape May County restaurant to say goodbye.

Sad to say that a beloved mom-and-pop sandwich shop in Cape May Court House will be officially closing its doors so the owners can enjoy retirement. It was announced this week that Hugit's Steaks And Things located on Mechanic Street will be closing up shop at the end of the month.

The owners took to their Facebook page on Tuesday, November 17th to break the news to their local patrons and to announce that a new restaurant will soon take its place. Hugit's will be closing up on November 30th, but Cape May County residents can get excited for a new food spot to open up in December.

The owners shared expressed their gratitude to the Court House community for all the love and support they've been shown over the last forty years and will never forget the memories made within both the town and the shop. The owners, Sandy and Bob, said that Hugit's is closing so they can enjoy retirement.

Judging by the comments, the town as a whole is sad to hear about their departure. So many people shared their favorite sandwiches from the shop, talked about childhood memories of getting Hugit's for lunch in the summer, as well as a bunch of warm wishes as the pair begins this new journey.
