The Atlantic City Blackjacks are moving closer to kicking off their inaugural indoor football season at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

They moved a lot Friday evening as the team held the final tryout/audition for their dance team - newly named, "The Diamonds."

From an original application of more that 40 dancers, the final 23 tried out in front of a panel of celebrity judges (and dance leaders) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.

Celebrity judges included our own Chelsea Corrine, and everyone's favorite local sports celebrity, Pete Thompson!

The event was hosted by Jahna Michael from the Cat Country 107.3 Morning Show and Ryan Rothstein, a member of the ESPN 97.3 staff. Jahna and Ryan will be in-game entertainment hosts at all Blackjacks home games.

The dance team is coached/choreographed by Nicole Stevens. George Manias, the CEO of the Blackjacks said that the dancers would be an integral part of the community, making year-round appearances on  behalf of the team.

After the tryout, it was announced that 17 girls made the dance team.
