Ariana Grande Confirms Break From Music: ‘I’ve Been Through Hell’
If you're wondering why Ariana Grande may not have been promoting Sweetener as intensely as you hoped she might, there's a reason — in her own words, she's "been through hell" and has taken at least a small break from music.
Grande, whose fourth LP dropped earlier this year, confused fans a bit Wednesday (October 10) when she dropped a hokey video for "Breathin,'' a fan-favorite track from the new album. The clip features a...pig?...and left some followers wondering if their girl had begun phoning things in.
"this era is a joke and lazy" one fan responded.
And Ari — who didn't seem particularly offended by the remark — tried to explain in her Instagram comments.
"this era is beautiful to me but idk. been thru hell and back and i'm doing my best to keep going. thought this would make u laugh while u wait for the real one bc i took a break to take care of myself for a lil while. my b," she noted.
And Ari ain't lying about her traumatic year — not only is she still reeling from a May 2017 terror attack exacted on one of her concerts, she's still mourning the loss of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died in September from a reported drug overdose.
