5 Ideas For Your Memorial Day Weekend

It's not too early to be talking about the 3-day weekend that is coming up, and there seems to be so many things you could be doing here in The Garden State.  Among your choices this long weekend include various concerts, rubbing elbows with celebs poolside, community events, and kite flying.

Beyonce is the big concert this weekend at Revel Resort in Atlantic City.  Ovation Hall is sold out for 3 nights, but a 4th night has been added for Memorial Day (May 28th - tickets can be bought at Revel's website).  This weekend also brings Collective Soul (Harrah's), Pitbull (Borgata), Garbage (Showboat), and 3 Doors Down (Trump Taj Majal) to A.C. (just to name a few).

Obviously there is more than just these concerts going on for your pleasure this weekend.  Here is 5 ideas you may want to consider for your 3-day weekend:

1) May Fair 2012 in Collingswood

A trip toward Cherry Hill could put you here for an event that drew over 50,000 people last year.  May Fair will have 5 stages of live music (ranging from blues to rock and more), an antique & classic auto show, Harley-Davidson motorcycle display and contest.  Visitors will also find several Food Courts complimenting the downtown restaurants & cafés.  Throw in the Collingswood Farmers Market bringing their Jersey Fresh produce and floral arrangements for mom, and everybody will enjoy this great event.

2) Wildwoods International Kite Festival

On the Beach at Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood and inside the Wildwoods Convention Center.  Event begins on Friday starting at 9 p.m. with the Illuminated night kite fly.  Sat & Sun will be the East Coast Stunt Kite Championships on the beach as well as kite exhibits and workshops.  What you'll see is not your typical kite you would fly in your local park.  The sights will awe and amaze you!

3) 23rd Annual Cape May Music Festival

4) Harrah's Pool Party with Kim Kardashian

This may have appeal to you if you follow that family on E!  This could be your best chance to get up close with Kim, enjoy talented DJs work their mixing magic, and of course there is the pool at Harrah's.  This happens Sunday starting at 3pm, and yes you need to buy tickets for this event.

5) Your backyard, your friends, and your grill

This will be my choice this weekend.  I plan on grilling for my girlfriend and her daughter, plus anyone else in our neighborhood who may stop in.  How can you go wrong with grilled meat, cold beverages (and some will be of the adult variety), and the right people?
