This has been a crazy campaign this year. It's been a crazy everything this year. So how do couples who don't share political beliefs make it work.

Believe me, we're not going to get into any politics here. We'll leave that for other people to work out. But we do want to share some professional advice to couples whose political views don't match up. This could definitely be a tough time for that situation.

So we reached out to our good friend Stacey Rose from the Rose Relationship Center to give some helpful tips to couples going through this, and we a re sure there are many of them.

This campaign season has not been about polite disagreement. It's been about divisiveness and people's emotions running very high. So how can a relationship survive all that plus the normal challenges a relationship faces?

Stacey says there are three things you can do to help navigate these very difficult, and very opinionated times.

(1) Remember all the commonalities. Think of all the things that brought you together in the first place.

(2) Agree to disagree. Some couples have chosen to not discuss the topic, and just realize that different people have different views.

(3) Respect each other's opinion. If you do decide to have the political conversation, remove the "judgement" part of it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

There are so many challenges we face during these times, so it's so important to keep those you love close to your heart and to appreciate all the good things in our lives. After all, we're ultimately the ones who are steering our own ship through these choppy waters.
