16 Rounds of Gunfire by Ex-Marine Leads to 3 Dead at a N.J. Supermarket
In the early hours this morning along Route 9, a Pathmark store in Central Jersey saw an employee shoot to death two coworkers before killing himself.
23-yr-old Terrence Tyler opened fire on the dozen or so workers working the overnight shift (the store was not open to customers at this time). Tyler is a former marine rifleman who left work after what has been reported as an argument with another employee (although police are further investigating the motive). An AK-47, extra ammunition and a handgun were found at the scene this morning.
Matthew White of Townsquare Media reports that Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry commented that the gunman was a “disgruntled employee” who had been working at the store for a short time.
