Another big lot along the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township has been cleared of trees. So what's going there?

The answer: Aldi.

Within the past few days, a lot at the Black Horse Pike and Tower Avenue has been cleared and construction will soon begin on the long-planned Aldi discount supermarket chain store.

In a Shore News Today article from late last year, Aldi Center Valley Division Vice President Bob Grammer said, "we are excited to confirm the upcoming Egg Harbor Township ALDI store is expected to open in the first half of 2018, but at this time, it is still too early to confirm any other details."

The new Aldi store comes on the heels of the news that Outback Steakhouse will be building a new restaurant on a lot formerly occupied by a gentleman's club just up the road in Hamilton Township.
