In 2007, 'Makes Me Wonder' by Maroon 5 became the band's first number one hit single. Ironic, considering front man Adam Levine struggled so hard with the song while recording tracks for M5's sophomore album It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

While promoting the album, Adam's estrangement from 'Makes Me Wonder' was evident in several interviews. Despite topping the charts, Levine was never a fan of the song, even criticizing Maroon 5's music label for forcing them to release it as the first single. To hear Adam tell it, the band was going through an identity crisis. And this song was the pinnacle of his frustration.

To this day 'Makes Me Wonder' remains one of my all-time favorite M5 songs, so it upset me that Adam kind of hates it. In fact, the band rarely plays it live anymore. However, after watching this rare video of Maroon 5 in the studio recording the song, and the energy it took to finally get it right, it all makes sense.

If you're a Maroon 5 fan, you'll really enjoy this behind the scenes look at the recording of 'Makes Me Wonder'.
