A new road in Mays Landing linking the Black Horse Pike to McKee Avenue is set to open to traffic Friday morning.

Shore News Today reports a short ribbon cutting ceremony is set for 9:00 Friday morning and once the festivities end, Volunteer Way will be open to motorists.

Volunteer Way was a dead end street that ran from McKee Avenue behind Shore Toyota that served a large housing development. With this new project finally finished, Volunteer Way will allow Wrangleboro Road traffic to go straight from the Black Horse Pike and bypass the congestion normally found in front of the Hamilton Commons shopping center.
