The beach town of Brigantine, New Jersey is joining Cape May County in recommending resident evacuations ahead of Hurricane Sandy.

The storm is rapidly approaching the New Jersey coastline.  As the Hurricane joins with a projected winter storm front, there could be severe gale force winds, widespread flooding, and a possible $1-billion dollars in damage along the eastern seaboard.

Residents in Cape May, and now Brigantine, have been asked to voluntarily evacuate and seek shelter elsewhere beginning at noon Saturday, with mandatory evacuations expected sometime Sunday.
