Two chiefs in the Atlantic City Fire Department were fighting a multi-alarm fire Tuesday night when they were set to retire at midnight.

Both Battalion Chief Robert Macready and Kevin Bennett had turned in paperwork to retire from the force on October 1st. When a huge fire broke-out on Atlantic Avenue Tuesday night, September 30th, both responded. When the clock struck midnight, both guys had to retire while the fire was being fought. Audio of their retirement has now been posted on YouTube:

Macready spent 41 years as a firefighter in Atlantic City and Bennett spent more than 31 years. Thank you, both, for your service!
