Galloway Police say two local men were arrested following an armed robbery earlier this week.

Police say John C. Andriotis, 36, of Galloway Township, and Tyrell A. Gist, 21, of Atlantic City, are in custody, facing numerous offenses related to the armed robbery of an 18 year old man Monday at a home on Juniper Hills Lane.

Here's the police department's report on just what happened:

The Galloway Township Police Department responded to the area of Jupiter Hills Lane in reference to a 911 phone call reporting an armed robbery. Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke to the 18 year old victim who indicated that he was just robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint at one of the local residences. Police surrounded the suspect residence, and after a standoff which last approximately one hour the suspects peacefully surrendered to police.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence which recovered additional evidence related to the robbery. A small portion of Jupiter Hills Lane was shut down for several hours while police conducted the investigation.

Andriotis and Gist were charged with numerous offenses including robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Gist was additionally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute. Both Andriotis and Gist were lodged in The Atlantic County Justice Facility on the listed charges.

The incident is still under investigation.
