Trump Taj Mahal to Close By December 12th

Trump Taj Mahal will become the fifth Atlantic City casino to shut its doors this year.

Trump Entertainment Resorts filed paperwork with with a Delaware bankruptcy court Friday that said its board has approved a shutdown of the casino by December 12th. The company had threatened to close by that date if its main union didn't drop an appeal of a court-ordered cost-savings package. In the filing, the company said the closing is because Trump Entertainment has not received state and local tax breaks that it sought. With the closure of Trump Taj Mahal, another 3,000 casino workers will become unemployed.
