If this playlist doesn't get you in the spooky spirit, you have no soul. Or does that mean you do...?

Now that it is finally October, we can start obnoxiously playing Halloween jams without getting a look our way. If you need help getting into the Halloween mood, look no further because I am here to help.

Check out this countdown of the best spooky, ghoulish, terrifying (not really) Halloween tunes to get you excited for October 31st.

    "The Time Warp"

    The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Right off the bat we start with this classic from TRHPS. This will sure to get you in the festive mood for the next few weeks (I've already played this song 3 times at my desk).

    "Ghostbusters"

    Ray Parker Jr.

The theme song to a movie literally about ghosts terrorizing a city, you can't go wrong with calling the Ghostbusters!

I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!

    "Superstition"

    Stevie Wonder

Perfect also for any Friday the 13th, icon Stevie Wonder sends chills down our spine with this classic.

  • 4

    "Bring Me To Life"

    Evanescence

A little more recent, but still applies. Evanescence hits all the right tones in the song, and also that music video. A dark song indeed for Halloween time.

    "Disturbia"

    Rihanna

If the music video isn't something out of a nightmare then I don't know what it. Riri must be a fan of things that go bump in the night because "Disturbia" is...very disturbing.

    "Bad Moon Rising"

    Creedence Clearwater Revival

Just take a good look at the lyrics.

    "Don't go 'round tonight/

It's bound to take your life/

    There's a bad moon on the rise/

    I hear hurricanes a-blowing/

I know the end is coming soon/

    I fear rivers over flowing/

I hear the voice of rage and ruin"

    Very end-of-the-world-ish don't you think?

"I Put a Spell on You"

    Bette Mildler

Another gem from the children of the '90s, The Sanderson Sisters really know how to own a stage.

    Repeat after me:

"Ay say into pi, alpha maybe upendi!

    In comma-coriyama

    Hey hi, say bye-bye-i-i-i-i-i-i-i”

    "This is Halloween"

    Danny Elfman

Yet another gem from the 1990s, from 'The Nightmare Before Christmas,' this ghoulish jingle will give you the heebie-jeebies, but in a nice, nostalgic way. I still get chills when Jack rises out of the fountain.

By the way, Jack and Sally = Ultimate relationship goal? Blink-182 seem to think so.

    "Thriller"

    Michael Jackson

This playlist would be invalid without this one from MJ. It is the pinnacle of Halloween songs.

Also, can we agree this is greatest music video ever?

    "Monster Mash"

    Bobby "Boris" Pickett

My favorite song to hear when it's Halloween, the "Monster Mash" is a must-play. You can't get more Halloween than a song about a group of spooky legends gathering at Dracula's to have a party of their own.

Seriously, I feel like I can mimic Pickett's voice almost perfectly from how often I play this song. Obsessed? You bet.
