Whether through exercise, injury or every day life, we can experience loss of flexibility and pain. A form of massage that you can do on yourself, foam rolling can relieve sore, tight muscles and break down knots. The deep compression of self-myofascial release improves circulation and helps restore healthy muscle function.

Foam rolling helps us prepare for a workout and aids in recovery afterward. Sometimes the process can be uncomfortable, but, if done correctly, foam rolling can release the adhesions and help restore pain-free movement.

However, there are some guidelines to follow for foam rolling properly, and it is recommended that you consult with a physical therapist or fitness trainer to learn correct technique.  Here are some tips on foam rolling. Catch more info on foam rolling with Antoinette Wood, Health and Wellness Director at The Jewish Community Center in Margate on Living Well With Robin Stoloff Sunday, March 19 from 9-11am on Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG and check out her video right here.
