Early Monday morning, a car thief stole a running minivan in Philadelphia, taking a 4-month-old baby with him.

NBC Philadelphia reports, while the father stopped in a Stop Food Market store, a man went in and stole the minivan. According to Philadelphia police, the man drove a couple of miles with the child strapped in the backseat.

After someone called the father during the incident, the child was finally found near Greene Street, miles away from West Penn Street where the van originally was.

The child is luckily safe and being checked at Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children.

Philadelphia Police are now using the corner store's security cameras to hopefully track

down the car thief.

Luckily, the child was found sooner than later. Follow the story on NBC Philadelphia.
