I've always been the kind of girl to constantly change my hair. I've had it short, bobbed, long, black, red, brunette, blonder and the infamous ombré. For whatever reason, I've had this sudden urge to cut my hair short again, but this time...pixie length. My hair right now is just below my shoulders and I feel it is time for a new look. But the biggest question is will it look good on me?

Before I make any drastic changes to my hair, I always look for inspiration to get an idea of how I want my hair to look. This time, I came across the John Freida 2.25 inch rule. Now what is this?

The 2.25 inch rule measures the angle of your jaw line to figure out whether long or short hair works for you. Finally! My prayers have been answered, because I have always been on the fence on whether my face will look amazing with a pixie.

To figure it out, this is what you do: grab a ruler and a pencil. Place the pencil beneath your chin horizontally and place the ruler under your ear vertically. The intersection between the two indicates a measurement. If the measurement is more than 2.25, long may be the way to go. If it is under 2.25 short could look amazing on you.

According to this rule, my dream pixie may not flatter me too well. But it doesn't mean I may not go for it! It's just a little tool to help you figure out if the style works best for you.

Other tips I have learned during my hair phases is to learn the shape of you face. The shape of mine is heart shaped, at least I think it is. Visit this website to figure out the best hairstyle for your face shape!
