NJ Governor Chris Christie spent part of his Tuesday in Atlantic City sporting a pink lei around his neck as plans were announced to add elements of the Margaritaville franchise to Resorts Hotel and Casino, but he was not the biggest star of the day.

Margaritaville owner Jimmy Buffet was in A.C. to make this announcement on the Boardwalk.  The 65-yr-old singer has garnered fame for songs like "Cheeseburger In Paradise", "It's 5:00 Somewhere" with Alan Jackson, and of course "Maragitaville", but his business franchises have made him a multi millionaire with a net worth of over $400 Million.

From his Land Shark Lager, to his Margaritaville line of foods, tequila, footwear, and numerous restaurants across the country, Buffet is big business.  His business with Resorts will create some needed economic growth in A.C.  Jennifer Bogdan from The Press of Atlantic City reports that this venture will create 238 construction jobs, 45 temporary professional jobs and 162 permanent jobs.

The casino plans to add a 440-seat Margaritaville Cafe facing he Boardwalk with outdoor seating.  A large Margaritaville sign will face the Boardwalk perched I top of a sloped roof covered with a material that appears to be beach grass — creating what will be Margaritaville at Resorts.

The projected opening for the new Resorts with Buffet's touch will be the spring of 2013.
