The Bachelor Contestant Dies at Age 29
Gia Allemand, the beauty who competed for the heart of Jake Pavelka during the 2010 season of ABC's The Bachelor, has died at the age of 29-years old.
Allemand was rushed to University Hospital in New Orleans "following a serious emergency medical event" on Monday night, People.com reports.
Hospital sources confirm she died Wednesday, but no explanation for her hospitalization or what lead to her death was released.
Allemand was one of Pavelka's top three contestants. She was also on two seasons of the spin-off series Bachelor Pad.
Before her death, she was dating NBA player Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans.
