I had high hopes for this beer that Panic! At The Disco created with Asbury Park Brewery. I apologize in advance for all of the Panic! puns from here on out.

As a huge fan of Panic! At The Disco and beer, when I heard Brendon Urie teamed up with a local Jersey Shore brewery I was stoked. I thought, don't threaten me with a good time and let me get my hands on this beer. I attended the show at the Prudential Center, where the beer debuted. However, it sold out fast and I missed out. Lucky for me, they were selling the beer at Asbury Park Brewery by the six-pack. It was time to feel like one of the drunks and try out this IPA.

I drove up to Asbury Park to the brewery, luckily they had the beer still. People lined up outside of the place starting at noon, the brewery opened at 2 PM. I got there around 5:30 and picked up 2 six-packs.

They were playing Panic! music, which made for a pretty cool atmosphere.

So, let's get to the beer.

Panic! and Asbury Park Brewery made an Indian Pale Ale called IP!ATD, which is described as an, "American IPA brewed in collaboration with Brendon Urie with a strong malt backbone with a big hop finish."

Asbury Park Brewery's collaboration with Panic! At The Disco started back in March 2018 when the band performed a secret show at the Stone Pony. As a big craft beer fan, Brendon Urie wanted to try something special with a local brewery he had heard of that had deep connections to the Asbury Park music scene. What resulted was a unique IPA inspired by Brendon's specs; bold and earthy, like a West Coast IPA, but Juicy and citrusy, like an East Coast IPA...

Is it any good? That is a big bold faced yes.

To me the first flavor that hit me was an orange zest, almost like the peel of an orange. It's sweet, citrusy, and bitter. It went down smooth and made me want to have a couple more until I said, "I'm not as think as you drunk I am."
