Erial Elementary School 5th grader Samantha Ortanez-Nguyen was mowed down my a drunk driver yesterday while visiting the Italian Market in Philadelphia with family. Now, classmates, faculty, and the small community of Erial, NJ are coping with the loss.
City Council employees in Trenton, NJ may need to keep their own personal roll of toilet paper handy. The Council president is trying to reach an agreement with Trenton City Mayor Tony Mack to keep its facility stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. Supplies are running out and a failure to meet in the middle could make a normal workday tricky in the very near future.
I went home to Virginia for about 10 days over the holidays, and everybody wanted to know about "Jersey". They would ask questions like: How are you getting along with those rude people? Partying hard at the Jersey Shore? Have you met Snooki? Crazy thing is, I didn't see any difference in my friends in Virginia then I did in New Jersey.
