The Press of Atlantic City reports police were looking in the marshes for the man after finding his car parked near the Travel Lodge hotel and Bayport One condos. The suspect, identified by authorities as 39-year-old Donald Capriotti, has a warrant for eluding police, and a history of weapons offenses and a homicide. He was formerly known under the name Donald Gardner, according to the Associated Press.

The K-9 found the suspect prompting the suspect to shoot at police, who returned fire. The extent of injuries was not known. “I think we have the individual cornered,” Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office public information officer Robert Gray told the Current of Egg Harbor Township. “But people are advised to stay away  from the area at this point.

The shooting shut down the Black Horse Pike between the Atlantic City Expressway and Route 589.

Police later arrested a woman at the Destiny Inn but her connection to the manhunt and shooting is not known according to 6 ABC.
