Suspect in Custody Following School Lockdown

Four schools in Mays Landing were placed on lockdown this afternoon after reports of a person with a weapon in the woods nearby.

Atlantic Cape Community College, Oakcrest High School, The George L. Hess Elementary School and the William Davies Middle school were all closed temporarily Monday, reports NBC40.net.

Reportedly, police have apprehended a suspect related to the incident at the Walmart just off Route 40 in Mays Landing.

Police have yet to reveal what kind of weapon is at center of the investigation, or what may have prompted the incident.
