A major fire in Millville left a historic South Jersey Church damaged Sunday morning, despite firefighters attempt to save it.

NBC Philadelphia reports the fire at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Millville broke out early Sunday morning around 5:20 a.m. Due to the strong winds from this weekend's storm, a tree fell on the power lines resulting in a major blaze.

Mind you, the winds from this weekend's storm were pretty strong, with gusts up to 60 mph. Unfortunately because of the blaze, the Church's sanctuary and steeple were destroyed.

Firefighters did save the church's social hall, and no injuries were reported which is really good news.
