Stranded Seal Spotted on the Jersey Shore

It seems that we've had a lot of unexpected visitors show up at the Jersey Shore lately.  This past Thursday night was no different....

A stranded seal was found injured and 200 pounds underweight in Seaside Heights.

According to NBC 40, the seal had scars from fights with other seals.  Our friend, however, is recovering.   Once the seal has gained enough weight, it will be released back into the sea.

It may look old and grey, but officials at the  Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine are expecting a full recovery.
