Stacey Dash Continues to Misunderstand LGBTQ Rights, Feminism, ‘Mad Men’

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, clueless/Clueless star Stacey Dash shared some controversial opinions about everyone from Lady Gaga to Caitlyn Jenner, and everything from feminism to transgender rights — two concepts she really doesn't seem to grasp.

During the chat, the actress and sometime Fox News pundit — who sat down with Nischelle Turner to promote her forthcoming memoir, There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative — slammed Hollywood's "liberal agenda"... including Lady Gaga's anti-bullying campaign, for some reason.

"Hollywood pushes a liberal agenda to the rest of the country. And, whether we like it or not, Hollywood dictates the culture of the country," Dash explained. "If [Gaga's intentions were pure] then it wouldn't have brought up all that other stuff, you know? All the other things that came in wouldn't have come into play."

Okay.

When the reporter brought up Jenner, a fellow conservative, Dash had some vile things to say about the E! star. "She's saying she wants to go into the women's bathroom. She's a woman now," she scoffed. "It's tyranny by the minority! Why do I have to suffer because you can't decide what you wanna be that day?"

After being told that transgender people do not choose to be transgender, but rather are born this way (pop reference), the actress snapped back, "Okay, then go [pee] in the bushes! I don't know what to tell you, but I'm not gonna put my child's life at risk because you want to change a law so that you can be comfortable with your beliefs — which means I have to change my beliefs and my rights? No."

Dash's views on feminism were equally misinformed, with the Outnumbered co-host claiming that the movement stifles men's ability to be "masculine":

We are the most powerful creatures on the planet, women. That's why I hate when they say I don't get this, I don't get that. I'm like, 'Come on! We have the men. We raise the men. So, let's start letting them be men. Stop trying to be men. Let's be women. And let's let men be men. Let's empower them to be men, because I feel like they're falling away...I don't have to dress like a man or try to beat a man or try and get a man's job to be a feminist. What we're doing is we're chipping away at what it is to be a woman and to be feminine, and what it is to be a man and be masculine. We're chipping away at that. I wish we could go back to Mad Men days. I love those days. Men were men. And I love them."

Considering the hit AMC series made a narrative point to highlight the rampant sexism and social inequalities that plagued women during the, you know, glorious Mad Men days, one has to wonder if Dash has ever actually watched the show... or taken a gender studies class.
