We have another reason why we love calling South Jersey 'home'.

If you drive in downtown Hammonton, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Hammonton has been recognized as a semi-finalist for the National Great American Main Street Award, an award that is given to a town that demonstrates 'economic impact, small-business development, historic preservation, volunteer involvement, public/private cooperation and success over time.'  (Press of Atlantic City)

In other words, Hammonton isn't just being recognized for blueberries and American Idol contestants.

There are eight other towns in the country that are listed as finalists.  Even if Hammonton doesn't win the award, being a finalist isn't too bad either.  They are still being recognized on a national level.
