The recent breakup of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, the 72-day marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, and George Clooney has a new main squeeze in Stacy Keibler: 3 couples that on the surface may seem to look right, but deep down something seems off.  In the world of Hollywood, many couples over the years have been in this category.

For Ashton and Demi age could have been part of their undoing, but trips to "Cougar Town" seems more commonplace these days than ever.  So was age a reason for Ashton's reported straying?  Look back when you first heard about this couple being together: Demi went from Bruce Willis to Ashton.  Both men seem to be polar opposites physically, mentally, and emotionally.  As time went on we thought this Hollywood "IT" couple would go the distance, but now what do you think?  Weren't the signs there from the beginning just by Ashton being so different from what Demi had in her life previously?

Kim Kardashian on the other continued her pattern of dating athletes.  She had dated previously Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush, soccer star Christian Ronaldo, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin, and the New Jersey Nets forward Humphries.  Kim seems to know what kind of man she is attracted to, but her track record says that maybe this marriage was doomed from the start, but not this quickly.  The truth is still coming out over this wreck, but this thing seemed wrong from the early idea of them getting married.  Kim should learn from others who have dated athletes and not succeeded (Eva Longoria and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs quickly comes to mind).

Now George Clooney has had many beautiful women in his life before, but never one who could kick his butt!  Keibler is a former wrestler and Dancing With The Stars contestant.  She is significantly younger than George, she looks taller in photos, and can you imagine what they have in common?  This seems to be a case of "Don't See Why These Two Are Together", and as a betting man I give them a year tops.

We have seen cases like this throughout Hollywood's history.  Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston are a prime example.  The good girl with a squeaky clean image meets up with the bad boy, sparks fly, and so does their marriage in front of the paparazzi.  Opposites do attract, but sometimes it can be downright destructive - look at Whitney's life before Bobby, and then the years that followed with drugs, alcohol, and a fading career.

Remember when Drew Barrymore married Tom Green - hard to see anyone with Tom Green, but many were shocked when he was marrying Tom, and six months after the I Dos they split.

Do I need to go back to Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley?

Being married is work, commitment, and understanding your partner.  Hollywood and fame creates obstacles that making a marriage work even more difficult.  This is not to say that it cannot work - look at Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman (Cheers) who meet back in the day on Taxi and have been together ever since.

Tom Hanks made the movie Volunteers in the mid-80s - the movie was a bomb for Tom, but his co-star Rita Wilson later became his wife meeting on the set.  Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for over 25 years and still seem very much in love.  Notice how these couples just look right together?  They are sadly the exception to the rule that is Hollywood.
