SoJO Celebrates the McMuffin Turning 40 on Saturday Morning in Bridgeton

This week marks the 40th anniversary of the Egg McMuffin, and SoJO 104.9 will celebrate this delicious creation Saturday morning at the newest McDonald's in South Jersey.

The idea of breakfast from a fast food restaurant was basically virgin territory when McDonald's took a leap of faith in 1972.  The idea was considered a "crazy idea" at first by Herb Peterson and Don Greadel - the actual creators of the McMuffin.  40 years later, just about every fast food joint has a breakfast menu of some sort - the duo from Santa Barbara could not have known what they created was groundbreaking.

When the Egg McMuffin debuted, the first official one was served in New Jersey (up north in Belleville).  On Saturday morning, the newest McDonald's hopes to serve many McMuffins.  SoJO 104.9 will be at 56 East Broad Street in Bridgeton to celebrate 40 years of the McMuffin, and the Grand Opening of this new place starting at 10am.
