Is red light cameras a way to keep drivers accountable and safe? Or, is it an invasion of privacy?  What do you think?

A state senator wants to introduce a bill, and you may be surprised as to what he is proposing.

State Senator Mike Doherty wants to introduce a bill to ban municipalities from using red light camera systems which detect violations of traffic control signals and automate the process of issuing tickets to drivers.

According to Courier-Post Online, the senator explains, "I don’t like the idea of ‘Big Brother’ watching us on every street corner and I don’t see any evidence that it’s made New Jersey’s roads any safer.
