Shooting In Atlantic City School Bathroom

A student has fired one shot inside an Atlantic City charter school bathroom.

The incident took place just before 12noon  in the bathroom of the Oceanside Charter School on Bacharach Boulevard. according to WCAU TV. Loud noises were heard coming from the a boys bathroom and teachers went in to investigate. They quickly found out a gun had been fired according to WPVI TV.

Two boys, age 10 and 11 and both from Pleasantville, were already in the principal’s office and the weapon found by the time police arrived.

No injuries have been reported.
Governor Christie, a proponent of charter schools, is in Atlantic City for an event on the boardwalk promoting tourism. It’s the second incident of violence in Atlantic City this week; 2 Canadian women were stabbed on Monday.

According to the school website the Oceanside Charter School was founded in 1999 as Atlantic City’s first charter school and has 360 students pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.
