Seltzer water has become everyone's favorite alternative to drinking soda. But the Atlantic reports, it might not be as healthy after all.

Now I love seltzer as much as the next person regardless if it's 'healthy' or not. I mean it's fizzly water that I can drink in cool flavors like cherry and/or orange! Well, the Atlantic had to burst my bubble by giving the news that seltzer is just as harmful as soda.

Why?

Apparently seltzer water wears away tooth enamel just as much as soda. So while you're saving yourself from sugar and calories, the carbonic acid in seltzer water deteriorates your teeth!

Oh and the fruity orange flavor I love? Those are the worst ones, of course. The fruity flavors contain the highest amount of acid.

At least, they give us a solution: 'dilute the carbonated water with regular water'. For that, I'll just either take my chances or drink plain regular water.
