School Offers to Change Grades to Boost Student’s Confidence
Report cards are meant to show parents how well their children are doing in school. But what this one school is doing might be taking it too far.
I came across this on Popsugar, and its apparently over a year old – still worth a topic of discussion! After report cards were handed out, these parents received a letter from their school:
What do you think of this policy? Brilliant? Befuddling? Best idea ever?

Basically, the school offers to change their child’s grades in order to boost their confidence. While I am all for boosting a child’s self esteem, this is taking it TOO far in my opinion.
Lying to a child about their grades gives them a false sense of confidence. If a child is struggling, you have to fix the problem. Through hard work and studying, receiving good grades will give them a feeling of accomplishment…thus giving them confidence.
What do you think? Is this taking things a bit too far???
