A middle schooler is facing weapons charges after a "toy" fun fell from his backpack in a Winslow Township middle school.

Courier-Post reports, the school was placed on lock down after the incident as precaution.

The 13-year-old middle schooler was allegedly found in possession of a steak knife and a spring-loaded pellet gun on school grounds, according to police.

Once the "toy" fun fell out of the backpack, the school went into lockdown immediately. Reportedly, they weren't sure if the gun was real or not, so the school followed a standard procedure.

The student's name is not being revealed, and is currently facing weapon charges with a 10-day suspension.

Very big round of applause for the way Winslow Township Middle School handled  a potentially scary situation!
