SCAM ALERT – ‘Secret Sister’ Gift Exchange on Facebook

The 'Secret Sister' gift exchange on Facebook is a scam, and is also illegal. Oops!

If you haven't heard about it, it is an online gift exchange that promises if you buy one gift for a stranger you will get as many as 36 gifts back.

Authorities say that the whole premise promised is mathematically impossible, and many people participate but do not send money to the person at the top of the list.

Apparently it's against the law to request money, or other items of value, and promise a substantial return to the participants. Bummer.

Be careful out there.
