Quick-moving thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon knocked-out power to some parts of Cape May County.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly reports winds gusted to 60 MPH in Ocean City around 3:45 Wednesday afternoon and a 61 MPH gust caused some property damage in Goshen around 3:30. A tree was reported down on Goshen Road in Cape May Court House around the same time.

Shortly after the storms moved through, Atlantic City Electric reported approximately 1,200 customers without power in an area roughly from Dennisville to Woodbine to Marmora. As of 6:45 Wednesday evening, about 700 customers were still without power.
