The owners of two dogs are currently facing charges after leaving these poor animals outside in this extremely cold South Jersey weather.

According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, Atlantic County SPCA found a puppy and a female dog inside a dog house that was outside of Jackson Road in Buena Vista Township. Unfortunately, when investigators arrived the puppy had died due to the cold temperatures and the female was found cold and malnourished.

To make this news even more heartbreaking, after being taken into veterinary care, the female dog died hours later.

Authorities have not revealed who the dogs' owners are, but they are are currently facing animal cruelty charges, failure to provide proper shelter, and adequate care for the animals.

The SPCA has provided tips on how to protect your animals in this cold weather. The best tip, is probably to keep them inside especially with this Nor'Easter on the way.
