Puppy Found Shot to Death in Local Neighborhood

George Peacock was devastated when a neighbor knocked on his door with the news that his dog was lying dead in the yard with a visible gunshot wound.

Cumberland County SPCA director Bev Greco tells NBC40.net that the 7-month old chihuahua named Salsa took a bullet that went through the puppy's lungs and windpipe.

The dog went missing several days ago in Bridgeton after it's owner, George Peacock, put him in the backyard.  Two days later, they learned Sasha's dead body was found on property nearby.

An investigation is by the SPCA and Bridgeton Police is underway.
