Northfield Boy Scouts Selling Christmas Trees, Right?

A Boy Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. And usually pretty good at giving directions.

For decades, the Northfield Boy Scouts have been selling Christmas trees next to the fire house on Burton Avenue. Buying a tree from the Boy Scouts here is a tradition that many families in this quiet little town look forward to every year.

To direct people to their Christmas trees, the Northfield Boy Scouts have posted a sign on Tilton Road across from our radio stations.

We're not going to tell you what's wrong with it, but the big red arrow is a clue.

Now, as a former Boy Scout myself, I would never poke fun at kids who are scouts that are raising money, especially in this case where this is a decades-old tradition. My posting this is an attempt at using humor to promote the fact that, according to Shore News Today, two of the troop dads drove way up to Pennsylvania the day before Thanksgiving and hauled over 200 trees back to Northfield to sell -- some upwards of nine feet tall. The money raised by selling Christmas trees goes to the scouts' camping trips.
