NJ Man Dies on Cruise Ship in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — One of two men found dead on a cruise ship in Puerto Rico was from New Jersey.

San Juan police said the men died in two separate incidents on board the Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas on Wednesday from natural causes. The ship was docked at a new port in Old San Juan

The news website El Nuevo Dia identified the men as Joseph M. Ambrussi, a 62-year-old retiree from New Jersey, and William Alan Forsytte, 55, a pharmacist. They were traveling with their wives. One of the men died at sea while the other died in port. No town was given for either man.

Royal Caribbean did not return a call yet seeking comment on the incident.

The Anthem of the Sea has a troubled past when it comes to New Jersey. Last January, the ship cut short a trip to the Bahamas with 6,000 people on board after trying to go through a storm with 125 mph winds and 30-foot waves. It had similar experience in September when it tried go through Hurricane Hermine.

In June, an 8-year-old boy nearly drowned in the ship’s swimming pool, forcing the ship to head back to port in Bayonne, and last month, a 72-year-old woman facing a medical emergency caused the vessel to change course.
